Homesick…

Well, I think its finally sunk in that I’ve moved:)  Yep, its only taken about 6 weeks for it to kick in, but I am homesick.  I miss my family, the mountains, the cool air at night…I could go on.  But I’ll be okay, I just need to get back to being busy!  Hopefully you’ll be seeing some fun new pics here on the old blog.  Speaking of fun (not necessarily new) pics – here’s some of my sweet little Sierra and her best friend (whom we are both missing greatly) Jennica.  I think I’ve mentioned this before, but my husband always jokes about how Jennica is so photogenic, so he calls her photojennica:)  Ha ha.

Back to School!

The girls had fun modeling some of their new school clothes, but they especially had fun doing the finger painting.

I can’t believe it!  Tomorrow’s the first day of school!

We can’t forget Moes.  He’s so cute!

Goodbye Summer

I can’t believe that school starts on Monday!  For me, in some ways, its been a really long summer.  But in others it seems like it just began.  I can’t believe Brielle is going to be in first grade, how strange its going to be not having her here with me for at least half of the day.  Here in Texas kids go to school for an extra hour than they do in Utah, and they don’t have a fall break either.  I’m sure it will be an adjustment, but Brielle is so excited to go to her new school and make some new friends.  I’m looking forward to winter for once  (not having to worry about having such a long cold season here in Texas might have something to do with that), so I’m ready to say goodbye to summer:)

Kaitlin & Baylee

Two of my beautiful nieces.  Kaitlin was always so good to come help me with the girls whenever I had a photoshoot.  She was the best little model.  And Baylee…well, look at that red hair!!!   Need I say more???  We’ve been missing these guys!!!

Norma Jean

I did this shoot with my sister about two days before I left Utah.  It was actually a cool evening so this shoot didn’t last very long.  Its weird to think that it was a cool evening.  Utah has been having a mild summer this year, which is not fair.  Here in Texas it has been 103 degrees with humidity.  I don’t remember experiencing anything like this before – even when going to Lake Powell in the middle of the summer while it was 110 degrees.  It didn’t feel as hot as this.  But when winter comes – I’ll be the happy one – I think:)

Meet Moes

Yep, here he is.  We promised the girls a puppy when we moved to Texas, since they had to leave behind all their friends and cousins.  We decided to get a Shih Tsu.

He is seriously adorable, but it looks like mommy is the one who’s going to be taking care of him for the time being:)  I have to admit the first couple of days were brutal, he cried all night!  But, he’s gotten used to us by now and lets us sleep through the night.  His favorite thing to do is have me hold him all day long – just like a baby.  For the most part I don’t mind, he’s pretty easy to love.

Gallery Wraps

I thought I’d try something different that I’ve never seen before with gallery wraps for my new wall.  I had the two larger canvases mounted with the 3″mount, and the smaller ones are just the regular 1.5″.  I’m loving the different dimensions.  Iprint Canvas in Lehi UT is the only one I know of that offers the 3″ mount.

Corbin

Before I left Utah I had a fun time doing this urban photo shoot.  My nephew, Corbin is one of Sierra’s favorite people and she has been missing him (me too:).  He’s just too cute.
